Fraudulent Links

Fraudulent Links

Sheetal got a link of net banking app in her mailbox. She clicked the link, installed the app on her Smartphone and tested it by entering her customer id and password.  As she clicked Submit button, her phone got hanged. Somehow she recovered it and she got the message that her account is debited by INR. 45000/-

Someone called Yash (who regularly use to trade in shares), saying she was speaking from XYZ Securities and they offer brokerage free trading in shares for today. She sent a link of their trading app.  He installed the app. That app showed his Demat account details which he maintained with XYZ Bank. Before doing any transaction, he called the bank for asking whether they were offering brokerage free trading or not? The bank official denied and told that there is no such offer. Yash understood that someone tried to trap him. He immediately uninstalled the app and called back to the number from where he got that call. The number as expected was not reachable,

Never ever install any app especially net banking or trading app on your phone without appropriate verification. Also install it through reliable sources as Play Store etc. and not from a link received.
